Grind it is a popular little brunch spot upon in Glenelg. Exercising a no-bookings policy we waited patiently in the middle of this eatery, side-stepping as the busy waiters zoomed past with plates of tantalising food. While we stood sipping our coffees and perusing the menu, we took in our surroundings. Grind it has an unusual set up with two long bars – one of which only has seats on one side (so you don’t have to look at your dining companion while eating). This also makes for less sociable interaction. Surprisingly, being in Grind It made you feel like you were in a backpackers. Lucky for us we weren’t.
Once seated our experience was good, and Grind It wins points for its numerous vegetarian and vegan menu options. Service was efficient. The food at Grind It didn’t push the boundaries and included all the standards with out any twists. Grind it lost points on value as the dishes were overpriced. Grind It brought out a beautiful ‘fruit crumble’ appertiser (pictured below left) for every diner. This was a lovely touch and gestures like these can really win people over. Grind It have some great vegan options – particularly some sweet treats!
